Jamaican Easter Bun

1/4 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 bottle "Dragon" Stout
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup honey (optional)
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 tablespoon brown coloring
1 cup mixed fruits (raisins, cherries, mixed peel)
3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Melt butter, sugar and stout together. Add marmalade and honey; mix well and allow to cool. Add slightly beaten eggs, brown coloring (optional) and vanilla. Add mixed fruits; mix well. Sift flour, baking powder (all dry ingredients) together. Add dry mixture to liquid mixture. Pour well mixed batter into greased loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees F for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 300 degrees F. Continue baking for approximately 1 hour.

Remove from oven and allow to cool. Serve sliced with cheese.
