Date Bran Bread

1/2 c Molasses

1 Egg

1 c Milk

1-1/2 c Bran

2 c Wholemeal flour

1/8 ts Soda

1 T Baking powder

1/2 ts Salt

2 T Melted shortening

1/2 c Chopped dates

Mix the molasses, egg and milk. Add the dry ingredients mixed together. Then add the

melted shortening and dates. Bake in a medium-sized bread pan for 45 minutes in a

moderate oven. Raisins may be substituted for dates. SOURCE: \
